During this session, participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on critical thinking lessons focused on helping students develop a clear connection to mathematical thinking and logical reasoning. Focusing on algebraic thinking and how to develop those concepts beginning in Kindergarten (or before) and moving through to junior high, teachers will learn to develop lessons modeled after a constructivist approach to learning. This concrete, hands-on method will support the learning objectives for all students, at all academic levels (EL, special needs, academically advanced etc.)
